Australia has claimed a clean sweep in the
women's 20km walk at the Commonwealth Games, with Jane Saville
winning gold.
Saville's younger sister Natalie Saville claimed silver and
compatriot Cheryl Webb won the bronze medal.
The Australian's controlled the race around Melbourne , opening up a
lead after just two kilometers.
Jane Saville won in a Games record of 1: 32 :46 in a
successful defense of her 20km Commonwealth crown won at the
Manchester Games four years ago.
31-year-old Saville set the pace early , with her 27-year-old sister
tagging along for the first five kilometers before dropping behind
her older sibling.
Natalie Saville's silver medal was her first at a major championship
after she finished fourth in the 20km event in Manchester in 2002.
Webb's bronze success came in her first Commonwealth Games.
